Starling Bank Statement to Excel Converter

Convert Starling Bank statement PDFs into clean Excel spreadsheets. FlowParse reads the Starling layout — date, counterparty, reference, spending category, signed amount and running balance — and rebuilds every transaction as an editable row. Starling personal, joint, and Starling business account statements (popular with sole traders and limited companies) are all supported.

Scanned or digital · multi-page · balance-validated · duplicates removed

Starling is app-first but its PDF statements still aren't a spreadsheet. Instead of retyping transactions for your books or Self Assessment, upload the statement, let the AI extract it in seconds, review the editable preview, and export to Excel, CSV or a QuickBooks-ready file — with balances validated so it reconciles before export.

AI extraction, no templates

Reads this bank's layout with no per-bank setup.

Every column preserved

Date, description, amount, balance and every extra field, 1:1.

Balance-validated

Opening + transactions = closing, checked on every file.

Scanned & multi-page

OCR for image PDFs; long statements stitched into one list.

What FlowParse extracts from a Starling statement

A Starling statement lists each transaction with date, counterparty, reference, spending category, a signed amount and a running balance. FlowParse reads every row and extracts the full record, keeping the category and reference in their own columns rather than collapsing them into the description.

The running balance is captured per row so the engine can confirm the statement reconciles end to end across pages.

FieldCaptured in the export
DateTransaction / posting date, normalised
DescriptionPayee, merchant or transfer detail, verbatim
AmountSingle signed value (debits −, credits +)
BalanceRunning balance per transaction
Reference / typeCheck number, transaction type, reference

Starling statement formats and account types

Starling's personal, joint and business statements share the same clean structure, with business statements carrying the references and categories that sole traders and limited companies need for their books. Spaces (Starling's savings pots) appear as transfers.

FlowParse reads all of them without configuration, so a personal and a business statement both produce the same consistent columns.

A whole year into one reconciled Excel

Smart Merge consolidates up to 100 Starling PDFs into one reconciled Excel with a unified transaction sheet, duplicate detection and per-row source tracking — turning a year of business activity into a single workbook for your accountant in minutes.

QuickBooks & Xero
